I'm so excited to talk about a dinner on a terrace, although it may seem simple , sometimes it's not …... it all depends on who is having a dinner on a terrace and what terrace they are having it on.
Some would hardly consider a dinner on a terrace as an event, but as I usually emphasize on, every single thing in life is an Event. And when it comes to styling, I will be right there.
Let's talk setting ….. What is the perfect setting for a dinner like that?
Well, it can be as simple or as complicated as the person organizing the dinner.
What people don't usually understand is that a planner can be used for something as elaborate as a wedding and something as simple as a terrace dinner.
I have designed five intimate dinners in my career , three of which were on a terrace. Looking back, I just thought it would be an amazing topic for my blog.
When planning one of my most memorable dinner , it was important to make the dinner special and comfortable, it had to be easy flowing, me and my team focused on it's setting, it's location and it's menu.
Would you like to take a little trip with me back in time?.... Well then close your eyes and imagine the following as if you were there :
- I chose to turn space in a small garden, Hung different potted flowers here and there, creating and illusion of a garden, giving the air a particular aroma, the table setting would be creative and the menu simple with a touch of originality.
- My table was wooden chestnut and uncovered for four, centerpieces were orchids in small vases and succulents in clear bowls, wine glasses and navy blue striped cloth square plate mats and crystal clear plates. Lighting was created by small kerosene lamps with dim light in the background.
- The menu should be kept special, and very simple. The menu was chosen by me and executed by my clients personal chef. A Lobster and Corn Salad was the main course. Very light, yet so classic. The vinaigrette was pretty delicious it's was combination of mustard, sugar and lemon juice, with a dash of tarragon , salt and pepper.
